Study finds Aparajitha Dhooma Choornam to cleanse air of microbial presence.
Conducted under the Ayush Mission and Indian System of Medicine (ISM), a disinfection exercise was done in the labour camps of migrant labourers in Thrissur district of the state using well known Ayurveda preperation “Aparajitha Dhooma Choornam” to cleanse the air of microbial presence, and the study has yielded promising results.
On the first day of fumigation itself it was noticed that bacteria count was reduced by 95 per cent and fungal count by 96 per cent. On the third day after fumigation noted that bacterial count from 8020 cfu (colony forming unit) was reduced to 60 cfu, fungal cfu from 835 cfu to 9 cfu.
Antibacterial activity of Aparajitha Dhooma Choornam remained as such even up to 24 hours after fumigation. Within 72 hours after the completion of fumigation procedure, bacterial or fungal count was very low compared to that before the fumigation procedure. This shows retention of certain amount of antimicrobial effect upon 72 hours.
Aparajitha Dhooma Choornam is very effective against bacteria like Candida Albicans which is known to affect HIV patients with low immunity. It has been proved that Aparajitha Dhooma Choornam which is prepared as per Sanitary Standards of non industrial premises (CEC, 1993) is an effective fumigator in increasing air quality.
Aparajitha Dhooma Choornam is an invaluable medicinal preparation for public health against fast spreading of viruses. Aparajitha Dhooma Choornam is efficient in removing food contaminating fungi mucor and Rhizopusft from the airCT.
